On the occasion of Watches and Wonders 2024, the Maison has just launched the new Submersible Luna Rossa PAM01565. This creation, available exclusively through Panerai’s e-commerce in a limited edition of only 300 pieces, is a tribute to the passion, precision and innovation that characterize both the sailing and haute horology worlds.
The Panerai Submersible Luna Rossa: A Tribute to Sailing
The Submersible Luna Rossa features the iconic 42mm Submersible case in brushed steel. Above the latter is an imposing unidirectional rotating bezel in steel with a matte black ceramic disc. This choice is not accidental: ceramic offers superior scratch resistance to traditional metal materials, an essential feature for a watch that lends itself to being worn in the most extreme conditions. Guaranteed water resistance to 30 bar (about 300 meters) further emphasizes the adventurous vocation of this extraordinary timepiece, allowing it to dive to great depths.
The dial, with its sunburst blue finish fading to black, recalls the ocean depths and is embellished with the Red Moon decal at 6 o’clock. Readability is ensured by luminescent circle and baton hour markers, a date window at 3 o’clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, with hands treated with Super-LumiNova® to ensure visibility even in the dark.
On the wrist, despite its size and the importance of the case with its distinctive crown protector, the watch dresses excellently, providing a fearless and bold appearance, thanks in part to the red details on the seconds counter and in the strap thanks to the Luna Rossa logo reminder.
Turning the watch over, we can admire the steel case back on which is engraved the name of the model, the metal, water resistance to 300 m, and the limited edition, as well as some serial numbers. Inside the caseback beats the beating heart of the PAM01565: the P.900 automatic movement, known for its reliability and equipped with a three-day power reserve. With a diameter of 28mm and a thickness of only 4.23mm, the P.900 represents one of the slimmest automatic calibres in Panerai’s collection, combining functionality with compact dimensions.
Another element reminiscent of the partnership is the bi-material strap made of rubber and fabric, adorned with Luna Rossa’s iconic logo.

Panerai has consolidated its connection with the nautical world through its official partnership with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team, which began in 2019 and was strengthened during the 36th America’s Cup held in the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland in 2021.
