Just a few days ago, through our Instagram page, we unveiled the new Swiss Alp Watch Concept Black, which was the epicenter of numerous discordant opinions and uncertainties, but mostly a great number of questions and curiosities.
It is truly challenging to fully comprehend the philosophy and magnitude of this timepiece without explanations…
Three were the fundamental aspects within this watch and answer to the reactions that most often you had:
“Ricorda un Apple Watch”
“It resembles an Apple Watch” Obviously yes! It’s precisely what Moser was aiming for.
This time-piece was initially marketed through a well-thought and satirical video, with the sole purpose of resembling, even in the promotion, the Smart-watch of the Californian brand, being though utterly different (if not opposite) in all aspects except the design.
“It is useless as an object”
Surely every one of us uses a Pollock or a Fontana to make pasta or go jogging… Nevertheless, these two artists, like others, are often the dreams of collectors because of their sophistication and the emotions they transmit. At the same time, a minute repeater tourbillon in a rectangular case is considered art and it surely transmits a vast number of emotions which obliterate any critic.
“How do you tell time?”
CoJust like last generation cars, the Swiss Alp Watch Concept Black is “hands-free” (literally hands-free): on this watch, time is “listened” with the minute repeater, a special complication which reverberate through the use of two small hammers that measure time. Such a mechanism is not excessively complicated but definitely unusual. qualcosa di inconsueto .

Being able to see the watch in Geneva was a challenge: every individual at the Moser stand was fighting to get the watch in their hands and admire its complexity, demonstrating once more how this unique timepiece is one of the best innovations of the brand.
Sitting on the wrist one realizes how incredible this watch indeed is, from whatever angle one looks at it there is always a new feature, a new pattern which resonates to the naked eye. Having a remarkably harmonious silhouette and an elegant minimalist dial, this watch is powerful and expressive.
Having already been sold for approximately 350 thousand Swiss Francs, this timepiece truly represents a new conception of time.
Minute repeaters have always been considered extremely redundant, existing only with the intention to increase the complexity and prestige of the watch. On the other hand, on the Swiss Alps, it becomes something absolutely necessary and characteristic, to the essence and nature of the watch. They are undertaking the same function that was present before the invention of the light bulb, where farmers invented a watch that could “communicate” time without having to look at it.
The magic of this time-piece and its complexity are inexpressible. Astounding is also the process to regulate time. Twelve small vertical lines are present within the crown, only visible when extracted. A complete rotation of the crown brings the watch hour ahead, while the movement from one vertical line to the other carries the watch forward of just 5 minutes.
